Yes please right now my installers open a link and it sends me a email saying the customer opened it. They need to be able to go to the day and see the job and what parts they need. also print an installer copy with out prices or a check list of parts.

I agree with Joe DiSabation and would like to add a communication feature like Microsoft teams. Maybe something like while a job is active there could be an open chat with the resources assigned to it. Or the ability to create a team of involved resources to communicate easily.

I’m fine with something responsive, as we use iPhones and iPads.
My initial suggestions:
1.) Updated Home Page (compared to MI on SI18) – This would have all of the information about the job. We can have site address, parking information, nearest hardware store, who the project manager is, other trades, etc.
Right now, with SI18, we use custom fields to add some of this information, but a cleaner more informative home page would be nice. On this home page would be a link to a cloud folder (OneDrive, Google, etc.) where we can have the drawings, program files, etc.) We’d also like project notes here, that can be seen at all times, not on a per task basis like it is currently.
Tasks should be part of the project home page. Currently, our installers can only see what’s been assigned to them, and nothing more. Even if all tasks related to a project are assigned to them, they have to keep going back to the home page to click on each task to see various components of the job.
From the home page, a bar of sorts tracking the progress of the job, so if 50% of the components are marked installed, this will show that.
2.) Have tasks auto-populate per product, if we want. Say we install a screen; it would have tasks such as set screen drop, remove packaging tabs, etc.
3.) Track phases, or locations of a job. Right now, the product is either picked or installed. We’d like to be able to track if it’s been racked in our shop, or if it’s on-site, but not installed yet. Another nice feature would be seeing if the item has been received. Our PM would like to be able to (on his phone or iPad) see what’s come in for a job and when items are due so that they can plan accordingly.
4.) Allow tasks to have a deadline, not a specific date. Say I assign our programmer to a job - I don’t necessarily need him to program the system on Wednesday, so it would be nice to put a deadline date that could be part of the morning email reminders to them.
Please feel free to reach out, this is a huge area for us, and we’re excited to see this happen.

Phone apps are preferable. 9/10 of our installers use iPhones, so an iOS app would be better for us. They really need access to client info, tasks/service requests, ability to enter site items (preferably pulling from our catalog) and enter notes. If you could include the ability to enter serial numbers, IPs, MACs, etc just like the mobile install site that would be great.

Hello everyone and thank you for voting! I'm happy to say that we plan on providing a solution like this for your installation teams! What would be at the top of your must-have list (tasks, access to project BOM)? Also, would you prefer a phone app over one designed for a tablet? I look forward to hearing from you, thanks!

@Hunter - D-Tools Cloud PM: Just for the Project Management side of things, it would be great if we can track job progress, phases, assignments and access to contact info and attachments (much like Slack, Asana and other mobile app versions offer). Phone and tablet app versions please - Phone is great for constant and quick access but tablet allows for whiteboard ability, better annotations to docs and photos, better presentation to customers and sharing between team-members, etc.. Thanks Hunter.

@Erik Hanson: this is great, thank you! We are excited to bring these capabilities to D-Tools Cloud and we will keep you posted as we make progress!
